Moxie Java's commitment

Over the next three months, these two Moxie Java locations will be promoting Featured Drinks, selling shirts, and collecting donations to help with this unique and important project.

In sixth grade, Longfellow Elementary students and best friends Nathan & Carson dreamed of becoming grade school teachers where they’d have neighboring classrooms and work together the rest of their lives and share the gift of learning. Things changed in 1993 with Caron’s passing and those dreams reshaped the future of hundreds of people’s lives for years to come. Nathan is now building a school in Kenya in Carson’s legacy with Build Africa. Their main focus is to work with rural areas of Uganda and Kenya to combine learning and earning opportunities, which offer children and their families long-term solutions to poverty.

Your support will help to achieve this by paying for:

Training and mentoring the 13 members of the School Management Committee. Training 1 parent and 1 teacher to become patrons of the health club. Training 10 children to become HIV peer educators. Providing sports equipment and text books. Providing sanitary towels for the girls to use when needed. Training the head teacher in school management. Training 5 teachers in child protection, gender and disability. Arranging 5 exchange visits for schools to visit other schools in the region.
